The Coalition won. That’s all fine and good. I don’t think the ALP are quite ready to run Australia.

But why the hell have we voted to give the Coalition a majority in the Senate? Remove the last safeguard between John Howard and Mr. Monobrow’s goverment basically being able to do whatever the fuck they want.

Way to go Australia. But then again, what would I know? I’m only a bitter 17 year old unable to vote.

Voting sucks. It means that people can blame YOU when the wrong people get in politics.

I dont like it either. But what can you do? It’s still better that the lib’s have open control than labor. Labor have more whacked idea’s they would’ve passed.
I spose it just shows how people were either not convinced by labor, or just felt insecure.

Kris, out of curiosity what has Mark done to earn distrust? He sure didn’t say WMDs existed… He sure didn’t say kids were thrown overboard… He sure didn’t promise that no UNI course would go over $100,000… As for “whacked idea’s”. Please elaborate?

I proudly voted Green. Simply so they could have my $1.90 for my primary vote, I proudly preferenced Labor and it looks like they’ve won my electorate back. Why vote labor? Howard wants to remove one very vital thing to our democracy. A free, truely independent press that is not concentrated in power. If the coalition get outright majority in the senate, and no one crosses the floor. Kiss cross media ownership laws goodbye and welcome in the new era of Murdoch media and ‘Fox News’.

Admittedly, I am biased, I’m leftish (slightly) wing and I studied Mark Latham’s ‘third way ideology’ for uni.
