Saturday, I acquired ($23, gotta love Clints Warehouse) and demolished (a few very well spent hours) Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Nice read. Won’t talk about it, Jemma will kill me… well the part of me she didn’t kill when I told her some amusing minor plot detail on Saturday night. I found it to be very much a ‘bridging book,’ it answered heaps of questions, but then again asked a whole myraid of new ones. Not my favourite. Satisfactory though. Rowling’s style has changed so much over the series… Looking forward to the next one. =D

‘Twas a good read, wasn’t it. I quite enjoyed it, though I think that it was pretty empty of events. Oh shit I dunno, my opinion is constantly changing.

i thought this was the last one, and i wouldn’t have to put up with hearing about this rubbish anymore?

I’m with T. Plus, I refuse to read any of them or see any of the movies. Damn fads.

a fad that has lasted how many years? if you read them, you would actually enjoy them.. if you liked reading that is, which i’m going to assume neither of you do.

Well…about 3 years ago I picked up the first one cos my sis said it was good. I put it down, half way thru it, and never picked it up again. I’m not much of a fan, but if its the thing people want to read, and enjoy, well, all the best to them. For good fantasy read “lord of the rings” or the “Narnia Series” :)
And I think thats why there IS such an appeal because there havent been any fantasy type books for kids since the 1960’s! And todays kids think that cos its so old, it sux.

I’ll have you know that I read a lot of books - but everyone seemed to love Dan Brown’s books but I thought they were shit. I haven’t seen the movie Titanic but I’ve probably read books that most people have never heard of. My tastes are different to most people’s and I refuse to do something just because everyone else is doing it. I will read it becuase I want to, not because everyone else is. And I dont want to read it.

I enjoyed the “Narnia series” and i dont enjoy reading, I pefer movies over books… Even so i wouldnt even watch a harry Pot-Head movie let alone read the books…

My bookworm cousin once told me that, although Harry Potter is a good story and JK Rowling has a great imagination, she is useless at telling the stories in her books. I’m not sure if this is true as I haven’t read any of them, but the movies are pretty good. When you say Rowling’s style has changed over the series, do you think the writing in the books has improved at all?
