nadinerine.com there’s always someone cooler than you

The server has been slightly toolish.

Any site that’s hosted under this one (nadinerine.com) has been moved. Those really annoying problems should’ve receeded. And most of your ‘missing’ blog posts and the like should be back. Should… I don’t particularly want to, but if anything else happens, I’m moving all the sites to a new host. I just hope it doesn’t come to that. Just, well, let me know if you come accross any more problems… Anyone with addon domains should remove them, and then re-add them if they aren’t working. It fixed the ones I have. :)

You know all they had to do was set up both servers, synchronise the MySQL (which wouldn’t take too long) and then immediately transfer the server from the live one to the new one and then we wouldn’t have lost all the data. It looks like they made a backup, waited a few days, restored the backup on the new server and then switched em. Which is poo. Also the FTP and MySQL were pointing to the new server, but the WWW portal was pointing to the old server, so when you uploaded shit it went to the right server, but nobody could view it cos it was going to the wrong server. They need to get their heads straight, or kicked in. Either or, I don’t mind.

Which hosting provider were you using, and where are you moving to? I’m interested to know cuz I’m thinking about doing the same as well, so if you found a good deal please let me know.

Moving servers shouldn’t be too painful given you take every step precautiously and super carefully.

Yeah I felt that, lots of downtimes lately and it’s been hard to get in touch with support. This is the host I’ve been looking at: http://powweb.com/ their daily bandwidth is yummy! :) So, you said “not sure where we’re moving to”, who’s we?

i have people hosted on my reseller. not too many though. still pondering the merit of moving. we’ll see :)
