Most of you probably wouldn’t know I work part time in a phone store. Which is all well and good… I love my job, and I love phones, however it does present one problem, I’m constantly wanting to update my mobile! I’ve been holding off updating though, I haven’t been able to settle on a phone I REALLY liked..

However, yesterday… I finally got fed up with my very basic Samsung handset. Don’t get me wrong, I love it to bits, but I’ve dropped it/thrown it/abused it so many times that now, in most of my calls, the microphone and/or speaker stuffs up and all I can hear is myself talking, which really isn’t cool…

So I’m the proud new owner of a shiny new black Nokia E65. It’s so pretty! And it’s not bad when it comes to functionality either! Not that I’ll ever use half the features. :) It does have wi-fi though, which I’ll find super useful. It’s also got voip capabilities that could be fun to play with! Gotta love that wireless network!

Whilst playing around last night I installed a dictionary application on it. Which means I’ve the entire Websters English dictionary at my fingertips wherever I am! So utterly useless, but at the same time oh-so-cool. I’m so easily amused! Does anyone else know of any cool applications for devices running Symbian S60, 3rd edition? ;)

I’m so impressed with this little handset. I think I’ll be more than happy with my selection! Hopefully I don’t get sick of it too quickly. :)

Ooooh, that’s a schmexy phone. Seriously schemexy. Do you get a discount since you work in a phone store?

I already sent you a copy of TomTom! v5 won’t work on S60 3rd, but V6 will.

Congrats to your new phone! Well, there is quite a bunch of websites that are Symbian S60 3rd Edition (which is the OS the E65 is running) software-related sites on the web now. Just to name my personal site: http://www.symbian60.mobi which aint only available through a “normal” webbrowser, but also features a PDA-optimized version if you try to access it via your new phone. You´ll find about 300 Apps, Tipps&Tricks and Tuturials there. Most of the software-titles being freeware btw!

As i said: There are dozens more interesting sites which i won´t list here - but you can find them in the blogroll (only visible through your “normal” PC-based browser though).

I just bought that EXACT phone today, but no doubt on a different plan. You’re going to be paying through the nose for telstra’s 3G crap. That said, I’m sure I’ll be cursing 3’s crappy network in no time.

I swear if we are not soulmates, long lost conjoined twins or at least some spooky aunty’s-dog’s-brother’s-ape etc then the world is unjust and stupid.

Holy crap. If I worked in a phone store I would have a new phone every day. I’m obsessed with constantly updating technology like that. That’s a cool phone. I hope you enjoy it.

hehe pedro i actually bought it on a three cap as well :D the $29 cap has a minimum monthly spend of $20 to $20+$10 = $30 + my regular cap plan with optus ($49) = $70 a month. ;) not too shabby considering i never really go over my cap :D i just got it unlocked and can use my optus sim in it as well :)

Congrats on the new phone. I’ve had good luck with Nokia, just not Motorola :P
