It’s on like Donkey Kong…

dk.jpgI’ve always believed the Donkey Kong games to be the absolute best offering of any of the Nintendo consoles.

That said, Donkey Kong Country has always been my favorite. I grew up playing Donkey Kong Country on the SNES. Mind you my parents never let me and my sisters have a gaming console, they were of the mind frame that a computer was more than enough technology for all of us; Donkey Kong was a Friday/Saturday night at Grandma’s thing. Don’t mind me getting all nostalgic here, it’s only because I feel like I’m 9/10 again…

Because we’ve set up a wi-fi network, the Nintendo Wii can easily hook up to the internet. Which means my credit card was immediately put to good use for the acquisition of some old school games via Nintendo’s Virtual Console. A few standouts include Donkey Kong Country and the original super Mario Brothers.

These games really have stood the test of time. I love this Donkey Kong Country even more than I did in 1995/1996. I’m never going to get anything productive done again…

Oh man I used to play that game for hours and hours. That sounds like fun!

I too am one of the lucky ones who have wasted the majority of my pre-teen years on Donkey Kong. God, what a great game. I can’t really remember the premise of that game…something about missing bananas?

Diddy Kong was my absolute favorite

I just bought a Wii for the boyfriend (haven’t received it yet), and one of the things that I’m looking forward to most is being able to play the old games on it. Seriously, if I hadn’t lost/misplaced all my games somewhere along the way, I’d still be playing with my Game Boy (the orginal grey one).

But oh no, around you I forget behaviour. The whites of their eyes polaroids of the tale.
