Ponderings

But the more I learn the more I can’t understand.

My uncle passed away on the 20th, which resulted in me rushing home on Tuesday to be with my family and attend his funeral. I feel so much for my Aunt and cousins right now. I haven’t cried so much in a long time. It’s always absolutely devastating when you’re forced to say goodbye to someone you love, especially when they pass away so much earlier than you ever believed they would, my uncle was only 49. Bloody cancer.

My three or so weeks of annual leave started on the Wednesday, which was also the day of the funeral. Great timing eh? :/

After a couple of days doing absolutely nothing (bliss I tell you, absolute bliss, I’m so not looking forward to going back to work)… we had to get everything together for Adam’s 21st! The party was on Saturday night, which was splendid fun. Good friends + copious amounts of drinking always manages to make for an interesting evening. You can check out a few photos from the evening on my flickr page, there’s even a horrible one of me in there somewhere!

Adam’s currently camping with the boys, and I’m heading down there for a night tomorrow. If all goes to plan we head back to Melbourne on Thursday for the 20/20 cricket on Friday night. We then head to Bendigo for an 18th, and then it’s on to the beach house Melanie (the best friend), Adam and I have rented in Angelsea for a week. I’m looking forward to more drinking and more doing nothing! :)

In short, the last week or so has been absolutely crazy. I’m looking forward everything slowing down and more of me doing nothing!

I’m so very sorry to hear about your uncle; 49 seems far too young (and unfair) for something like that to happen.

Man you’re going to have such a good time at Anglesea. I’ve done a similar thing at a town called Vincentia here in NSW which is a similar kind of town (but less surfey). Rawks.
