It’s been absolute mayhem around here for the last couple of days. Our house is an absolute mess… and we haven’t even started on the kitchen and bathroom.
I arranged the last of the utility connections and signed the lease for the new place this morning. We pick up the keys/start moving Friday. I’m still flabbergasted by how quick this decision and the consequential move has been! I can’t believe it’s actually happening.
That all said and done, even though I’m ridiculously excited right now.. I’m still going to miss this place. Our first ‘home.’ So many memories…
We got the house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A few days ago, Adam, me and one of my uni friends Daniel, decided it would be an absolutely fantastic idea to all move into a nice big house together. For one thing, between the three of us, there are actual houses (not just tiny shoebox apartments/units) available in the area we currently live in which won’t cost any of us anymore that what we are all already paying individually.
After living in a tiny apartment for almost three years, a bit of space would make a very lovely change, I may even be able to get a kitten and Adam’s really hanging out to own a BBQ again.
Then again, house hunting is never fun. I’ve decided it is in fact quite stressful… I get all excited about the prospect of something, only to be shot down and/or it’s no where near as easy as I first thought. After looking at a few places we’ve only really found one place we like; Adam made an appointment and checked it out the other day (because both Daniel and I had to work). It’s an older style house, but it’s absolutely HUGE and only about 50 metres from a train station. We emailed through our application yesterday, however, I need to keep reminding myself that there was an open inspection today, and I’m sure other people will apply for it as well.
Wish us luck… now we’ve made the decision to move to somewhere with more space, I really, really can’t wait for it to happen.
Just testing out the Wordpress application for my iPhone…
This could possibly mean more frequent blogging.
I can now bore you with my random ponderings about life, the universe, and everything from the (dis)comfort of the absolutely freezing train station while I wait for my once again delayed train.
Now I’m going back to playing Super Monkey Ball. There are so many cool apps available for this thing. I’ve had it for over a month already and I’m still not bored with it! :)
Full time work + full time uni course load is enough to drive anyone bonkers. And I’ve finally decided the amount of responsibility I’ve taken on is quite crazy. (It so only took me like, over a year…)
This morning I decided I’m going to reduce my workload at Uni. I’ll head into uni this afternoon to hand in the form to withdraw from one of my subjects, which I will then pick up again over winter term next year. Which means it technically won’t extend the time it takes me to complete my degree. Which is always a good thing…
However it also means I won’t get a mid semester break next year, but honestly, I think the benefit of having a day to myself each week will keep me far saner and allow me time to put more effort into work, Ilati, and my other subjects… :)
I hope I’ve made the right decision…

I nearly crashed my car again… on the way to Uni this morning… several times…
Is it totally bogan of me to have issues driving properly with shoes on? I usually drive with bare feet, however, this morning was freezing and I was all rugged up, complete with boots…
Cool things that have happened lately that have made me happy:
- Vicroads sent me my full drivers license a couple of days ago, complete with $11.30 discount for being a law abiding driver (no speeding fines, that sort of thing)! No more wanky green p-plates for me! Actually I’m more excited by the fact I can have a glass of wine whenever the hell I want now and don’t have to worry about whether I have to drive somewhere later or not. :D
- Adam and I both had Sunday off, and he surprised me with an impromptu trip to the zoo. Man, I love the zoo… though it does reduce me to a child like state that has Adam going ‘Nadine, shut up, you’re embarrassing me…”
- I was promoted at work! I’m an assistant manager again! More responsibility I know, but also means a bit of a payrise!
- I bought an iPhone. And its pretty, and white, and I loves it.
Not so cool things that have happened lately that have made me sad:
- Despite Vicroads being convinced I’m an absolute gun of a driver…. I crashed my car. I wasn’t really paying attention to the road and rear ended someone up near Vodafone arena on my way out of the city. Luckily insurance are covering all but about $1100 of it.
- Whilst everyone else is getting excited by tax returns, I’ve just discovered my last job taxed me no where near enough to cover my HECS debt, meaning I owe the Tax office like $1300. I’m so poor right now. :(
