“You Know Yer Indie. Let’s Sub-Categorise.”

You’re a Britpopper. The UK is your thing. The Smiths really were ‘terrif’ and Blur are indie no matter how much money they made. You could drink all the other indie kids under the table. You plan on moving to London someday and dream of one day owning every Beatles release on vinyl. Take this quiz! (Thanks t!)

I’m a stranger in a country town…

It feels so weird to be back at my parents. Everything’s changed. It took me coming back again to realise that this place is no longer ‘home.’ I’m sleeping on a couch in my parents office, listening to people who’ve never left tell me everything I’ve ‘missed’. Which quite frankly, is nothing even remotley exciting. It’s been fantastic catching up with peope I haven’t seen in months, my mum and dad, my sisters, Jemma, Dani, Kirsten, Vik, Maria and the many more I haven’t seen yet but plan on seeing soon, such a Jess, but I’ve been here two days and already miss the city more than I thought I would… I miss the noises, I miss my home, and most of all I miss Adam.

I spent most of my biology exam this morning gawking at the incredibley pretty building the exam was actually held in. It’s horrible… I’m so easily amused (aka: distracted). :p

Adam’s sister Kayla arrives for the week tomorrow and Danielle arrives from New Zealand on Tuesday. I really should check when she’s getting here though, I’m actually really not too sure! Adam and I are going out tonight for a good friend of mine’s 18th and we’re also going out next Saturday night for my cousin’s 18th. My mum, Nicky (middle sister) and Nicky’s boy are coming down for that too. Then next Sunday I turn 19. =D Factor into the equation Uni and work and you get one (still) very very busy Nadinerine. I’m looking forward to semester break. I’m going to head home for a week or two. I want to see my family in its entirety. :)

Just follow the seasons and find the time.

A very bust few weeks… Amongst other things, a very complicated server move has had my head spinning!

Anway, on to slightly more, but not really, interesting things… Easter break saw Adam and I decide to stay in Melbourne, heading home would have meant both of us getting time off work because even though we both had Good Friday and Easter Sunday and Monday off, we both worked Easter Saturday. And then, we would have had to split the one or so days we could have been there between two families, which didn’t sound too fun to us. So we stayed here, and went to the zoo instead, which as stupid as it sounds, was alot of fun! The easter break has been the first time in weeks Adam and I have had time off together. To celebrate we watched a truckload of movies. We also went and saw the studio recording of 2 eps of The Glass House. T’was filmed in Melbourne (it’s usually filmed in Sydney) in conjuction with the Comedy festival. In short it was the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long, long time. I was even interviewed by Hughesy, though thank goodness what I said wasn’t stupid enough to make it on television!

I’ve been working heaps lately. I’ve officially decided I do like my job, and the people I work with are pretty awesome too. As well as the whole working retail thing, I’ve also been dabbling in a bit of tutoring. Yes, me, helping a kid with English. God help the poor girl. :P

Things have been craziliy busy and it doesn’t seem like it’s to be slowing down anytime soon. Just glancing at the calender, events, visits, birthdays, working and uni due dates are all looming for the next couple of months.

The gap is only as wide as the hollow of the sky between you, my dear.

I suppose I should update you on what’s been happening… I’ve sort of been a bit quite lately (partly the fact we’re yet to get the net connected, and partly the fact I’m still as lazy as I’ve always been).

  • I like uni, well most of it. Some of the lectures are so boring, I’d much prefer to sit in the computing centre playing with Photoshop CS2 on their very sexy iMacs.
  • We saw the Alkaline Trio live the other week at the Hi-Fi Bar. Which was absolutley awesome.
  • I’m living in a city where most people seem to be sports obsessed, which is kind of yuck. The fireworks from the Commonwealth Games opening ceromony were cool though, I could see them from our street.
  • I start work on Friday, still selling phones. :)

I miss Mildura (I so never said that…)
